About the Task Force
Formed in the spring of 2021 by joint resolutions of the City of Frankfort and Franklin County Fiscal Court, the task force is made up of diverse stakeholders and expert partners. The members meet quarterly to discuss ongoing and future invasive plant management efforts across the city, county, and region.

Priority Sites
The task force’s initial invasive management plan was developed collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and input from the public. The plan was approved by both the city and county in spring 2022. Beyond policy, program, and community recommendations, a central component of the plan is the priority areas map, which identifies key lands for targeted invasive species treatment. Clearly defining these treatment areas will help Franklin County focus fundraising efforts and more effectively track management of these critical sites.
These areas were chosen for their high visibility, public use, aesthetic quality, and ecological value. Red depicts Priority I areas; orange is Priority II; and yellow is Priority III.
